Established as a fishmonger, family run business in 1926 linked to a Newcastle based fishmongers. Taylors went it alone, running their fishmonger business from along the key-side in North Shields. In 1989 Taylor Foods was established and a purpose-built depot was set up in order to serve restaurants, hotels and bars in the local North East region.
These many years of experience in the fish and seafood industry along with our commitment to service, has built Taylor Foods business to give a local reputation as the best fresh fish wholesaler in the region. We may have grown as a business; however our heritage remains as we continue to focus on freshness and quality of products.
We deliver fresh fish and seafood, daily, to restaurants, hotels and bars throughout the North East; Northumberland, North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.
The Taylor name is well known in the North East area, a major buyer at North Shields auctions, with over 85 years’ experience in fresh fish, Taylor Foods is also the largest employer in the fishing industry in the North East. Although we are experts in the fish business, through our parent company ‘Bidfresh Ltd’, we are also able to source quality fresh meat and produce enabling us to offer a full range of fresh ingredients to chefs in the area which we deliver daily.
We are an MSC approved supplier and we work closely with relevant non-government organisations such as MSC to maintain high standards within our industry.

Our buyers get up early each day to bid on the daily landings from the UK fish markets and grab the best fish available. Any fish and seafood not landing into the UK, we source from further afield to cover all customer requirements. You can learn more about our fishermen and the areas we source from here.

We offer a range of flexible ordering options from phone, to online ordering, and WhatsApp for those preferring it. Orders placed before our cut off time will be delivered the very next day in our temperature controlled vehicles to ensure freshness and quality is preserved throughout the journey.
